Sakamoto Tokuro

born in Yamanashi 1975.

Education:
Japanese-style painting department of Tokyo University of the Arts(1999).
Japanese-painting department of Hayami Institute of Arts(2001)

After study at schools, Sakamoto had been the assistant of Hiroshi Senju till 2004 and now lives in Yamanashi.

Award:
3rd Kaii Higashiyam’s Memorial Nikkei Japanese-style painting award (2006)

Artist's comment
Vast expanse of everyday-life.
I try to focus on depicting a piece of scenes all the Japanese have seen. It is my pleasure if my paintings can be the eyes to look what we live in.

Sakamoto's works attract attention publicly these days.
The perfectly-placed space can be the window of viewer's imagination and one can have his or her head relaxed. They have infinite broadening of the world if you follow the brushstrokes. I recommend you to feel it.
