Kondo Takahiro
Kondo is the contemporary artist who was born of the Kondo family that transcends the tradition of sometsuke (underglaze cobalt-blue wares) to our time. Having the basics on the traditional `earthenware' and `water' as the main themes, he has led the earthenware work to more conceptual form for the new perspective of the world.
Kondo is like an alchemist of today to create `water' by `clay' and `flame'. His pieces had a lot of enthusiastic fans internationally and many overseas museums collect his works including Metropolitan Museum of Art.
